If you use Google Street View on the outskirts of the LSU-VA construction site, you can still see the houses that were demolished to make way for the future hospital complex. Here's the view from Cleveland and Rocheblave as seen on Street View and in person.

Google Street View showed the world what post-Katrina New Orleans was dealing with. We've come a long way since then, but Street View remains frozen in time. Most of the images in New Orleans were taken in 2007 – five years out of date in a city that is continuously changing, demolishing, and rebuilding.

Street View is one of the go-to ways for outsiders and locals to see an area, and its outdated data hurts local businesses, apartment hunters, landlords, and the general perception of the city. To highlight the changes that have taken place these past five years, we're using this site to juxtapose Street View screenshots and photographs of what the same spot really looks like today.
